CLI (Command Line Interface) යනු operating system එකකි. එය අප බාවිතා කරන අනෙකුත් GUI (graphical user interface) වලට වඩා වෙනස් වේ. මෙය ක්රියාත්මක වන්නේ command යෙදීමෙනි. Command යෙදීමෙන් අපට අවශ්ය application, software වෑනි දේ open කර ගත හෑකි අතර මෙම command මතක තබා ගත යුතු වේ. එවෑනි දෙයක් GUI (graphical user interface) වල මතක තබාගත යුතු නෑති අතර CLI (command line interface) ,GUI (graphical user interface) වලට වඩා පහසු වේ.
MS-DOS මෙයට හොද උදාහරනයකි. තවද UNIX, CP/M, Apple DOS මෙවෑනි CLI වලට ගෑලපෙනම operating system වේ.
